Due to the continued growth of the company, Certa Ireland are looking to expand our technical team, environmental, health and safety officer will play a pivotal role in the development of the company. KEY SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Appropriate third level qualification in Health and Safety.
  • Familiarity with ISO45001, ISO14001 or equivalent would be a distinct advantage.
  • High level of IT literacy and competence.
  • Good reporting skills and data analysis competency with attention to detail is required.
  • Strong communicator with an ability to work with different stakeholders.
  • Full & clean driving licence and flexibility to travel nationwide as required.
  • Practical health and safety experience is a distinct advantage.
  • Ability to adapt and be agile.

Responsibilities:

  • Working with the HSE Director lead the overall development and maintenance of the HSE management system for Certa. Support and assist teams throughout the business to ensure compliance with the core management system requirements, as necessary.
  • Support the organisation in meeting its legal requirements with regard to the health, safety and environmental aspects of operations.
  • Promotion of a safety culture through delivery of safety campaigns, initiatives, regular communications that will drive continuous improvement through people.
  • Provide regular updates to the management team of incidents, accidents, inspections and audits. Identifying appropriate corrective and preventative actions and supporting learning from the events (LFEs) process.
  • Develop and manage the annual budget for HSE-related items, ensuring that resources are allocated effectively.
  • Support HSE meetings across various business areas, ensuring that key health, safety, and environmental issues are prioritised. Foster cross-functional collaboration and follow up on agreed action points to drive continuous improvement.
  • Support the management team in the delivery of key safety operational control measures e.g., controlling of contractors, permit to work, risk assessment of non-routine activities etc.
  • Providing support across the business in the delivery and sourcing of HSE-related training.
  • Identifying smart ways of working where practical, this will include the identifying improvements on existing ways of working.
  • Assist in the creation and dissemination of HSE-related communications, including updates, safety alerts, and initiatives across the company.
  • Support Regulatory interactions, ensure timely and accurate reporting to regulatory bodies where relevant.
