We have built connections with key opinion leaders who are already using the Globe System and are helping to tell our story.
We have now completed our pivotal clinical study and our focus is on regulatory approvals and commercial launch. This is an exciting and significant milestone in our journey to bring this ground-breaking technology to patients.
As the Environmental Health and Safety Specialist, you will be responsible for fostering a culture of safety, and leading continuous improvement initiatives that result in an effective environmental health and safety program, and provide a safe working environment for all Kardium employees and guests.
Please note, this opportunity is a hybrid work arrangement, located in Burnaby, BC.

Responsibilities:

  • Review Kardium’s health and safety program, and propose and implement safety policies and procedures that comply with applicable laws and regulations to meet Kardium’s needs.
  • Conduct regular safety audits, facility inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards.
  • Lead investigation of workplace environmental and safety incidents and compile and submit all necessary incident reports.
  • Identify and drive on-time implementation of corrective and preventative measures arising from all environment and safety audits, inspections and incidents
  • Lead and facilitate Joint Health and Safety Committee meetings, ensuring effective communication and implementation of safety initiatives.
  • Serve as a point of contact for environment health and safety related enquiries for internal stakeholders and act as liaison for external agencies.
  • Maintain all environmental and health and safety files and records and ensure all necessary permits are current and up to date.
  • Ensure storage, handling, and use of chemicals and other hazardous materials complies with all applicable regulations.
  • Develop and deliver health and safety training.
  • Ensure chemical management and safety information systems are maintained up to date.
  • Develop, prepare and present environment and safety performance metrics.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives for the environment, health and safety program.

You will be successful in this role because you possess these attributes:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferably with a science or engineering background
  • Minimum 5 years health and safety management experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Good working knowledge of applicable OH&S regulations and standards
  • Experience in a regulated manufacturing environment such as ISO 13485 or AS9100D is an asset
  • Proven track record implementing environmental and safety management programs and initiatives
  • Highly analytic and data driven with the ability to organize data to drive conclusions and actions
  • Exceptional collaboration skills, ability to grow relationships and manage expectations, and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization
  • Flexible and willing to take on additional responsibilities as required

Compensation
Kardium has listed the total cash compensation range (base salary + 5% RRSP contribution) that we expect to pay applicants for this role, as of the time of this posting. Pay offered will be determined based on numerous relevant business and candidate factors including, for example, education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, and business or organizational needs. For candidates with more or less experience than listed above, the pay range will be adjusted.

As a permanent employee, you will also participate in Kardium’s stock option plan.

  • $80,000 – 130,000 (CAD Annually)
