ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
We are seeking highly motivated Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Consultants at varying grades and experience to join our dynamic and multi-disciplinary team. You will play a key role in managing and delivering Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs) for the nuclear industry and other related sectors. This role focuses on ensuring compliance with applicable legislation in the UK and international contexts.
As an EIA Consultant, you will provide expert guidance, manage complex projects, and support our clients in navigating the regulatory landscape. Your role will be crucial in ensuring that the environmental impacts of projects are thoroughly assessed and appropriately mitigated, in line with UK legislation and best practices. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to high-profile projects.

Responsibilities:
- Consultancy or academic exposure to EIA with focus on ecological surveying, ecological risk assessment models, and/or acoustic modelling.
- Significant interest to develop career within UK and EU laws, as applies to Environmental Impact Assessment, Local Planning Authority and Planning Inspectorate.
- Opportunity to become involved in/lead and manage Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs) for nuclear newbuild, defence, decommissioning and wind farm projects, ensuring compliance with applicable legislation and sector-specific regulations.
- Deliver UK site-based ecological and acoustic surveying as required within the UK regulations, and/or management of specialist subcontractors.
- Strong ICT skills and ability to use available tool kits in ecological risk management.
- Ability to write reports and engage constructively with stakeholders to develop reports and scientific interpretation feedback.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail. Ability to structure & prioritise work effectively through close cooperation with the team as a whole.
- Ability to work with and understand the work of the wider team of nuclear industry specialists, consenting specialists, engineers, geoscientists, geotechnical and environmental professionals as we deliver complex projects together.
- Commitment to continued education and improvement.
- A full driving licence is essential as the role will involve travel for site surveys with equipment and limited public transport access.
- Facilitate and lead technical and non-technical meetings, public consultations and client workshops.
- For more experienced candidates; coordinate multidisciplinary teams to produce comprehensive EIA reports and environmental statements, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and compliance with statutory requirements.
- Engage and navigate with stakeholders, including regulatory bodies, clients, and the public, to communicate environmental impacts, mitigation strategies, and the outcomes of the EIA process effectively.
- Support business development by identifying opportunities, preparing proposals, and maintaining strong client relationships.Stay informed about changes in environmental legislation, policy, and guidance to ensure the company remains at the forefront of industry standards.
