Description:
MINIMUM POSITION KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- 40 Hour HAZWOPER - Train the Trainer Certification.
- Broad knowledge of other disciplines such as environmental sciences, safety or industrial hygiene.
- Knowledge of environmental regulations (such as Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act and Safe Drinking Water Act) and associated permitting requirements.
- High school diploma or equivalent training & experience.
- Ability to read and write English is required.
- Solid communications skills, strong interpersonal skills.
- Strong ability to work as a member of a diverse, dynamic team.
- Outstanding problem-solving skills and sound judgment.
- Candidate should be other country national (OCN) or local national (LN).
- Possess a valid driver’s license, passport from their country have ability to obtain a work visa.
- Ability to successfully pass contract medical requirements and maintain requirements for duration of deployment.
Responsibilities:
PURPOSE AND SCOPE:
Develop, execute, and maintain, as required, procedures in compliance with local policy that protect the health and safety of employees and the community and that minimize or eliminate the risk of environmental pollution. This position is in support of the Air Force Contract Augmentation Program (AFCAP) and is located at Ascension Island Auxiliary Airfield (AAAF).
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide environmental impact analysis services to comply with 32 CFR 989, AF Environmental Impact Analysis Program and assess all proposed facility work for environmental impact using AF Form 813 for all projects with environmental considerations and maintain environmental analysis and decision documents on IDMS.
- Analyze proposed programs and projects (including construction, repair or O&M Projects) to identify environmental concerns and act early in the planning phase.
- Conduct annual environmental training for all downrange personnel whose work-related activities could potentially have environmental impacts.
- Conduct and document engineering and environmental studies for environmental protection as directed by the Government and report the status as part of the monthly AAAF Facility Work Activity Summary.
- Implement programs to protect and manage natural resources.
- Comply with Federal, State, International/Host Nation, and local safety and environmental directives as applicable based on location, including current version of PSFB HAZMAT Management Program Plan and AFMAN 32-7002.
- Create and maintain information related to ongoing monitoring and analysis results within the IDMS for the duration of the TO.
- Manage fuel and petroleum storage systems. Inspect, maintain, and repair all storage, distribution, dispensing and metering systems.
- Ship all asbestos-containing material to the continental United States through the DLA for disposal.
- Coordinate closely with all other on-site Contractors for the removal and disposal of heavy metal paint chips and debris as required by mission or construction contracts.
