Job Overview: GrizzlyTrek Group Ltd. is looking for a skilled and bilingual Environmental Manager for a full-time position in mine maintenance in the picturesque town of Mont-Laurier, QC. JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for implementing site-wide environmental compliance, documenting and enforcing applicable laws and regulations. Responsible for maintaining good relations with the Ministry of Environment and related authorities. Ensure that environmental issues are studied and included in decision-making. Advice Management on environmental matters and keep them informed of the environmental condition of the site and significant problems.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in environment or equivalent relevant experience

Experience

  • Minimum three years of relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of provincial, federal, and local regulations.
  • Knowledge of the environmental requirements of the mining sector.
  • Ability to analyze and solve problems.
  • Autonomy and organization
  • Good communication skills.
  • Comfort with different computer applications

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for monitoring the sanitation certificate and environmental management.
  • Supervise the environmental technician.
  • Ensure compliance of the analyzed parameters with applicable requirements.
  • Prepare and transmit reports to the appropriate ministry or other entities.
  • Update permits, authorizations, enforce the restoration plan.
  • Develop site enhancement and restoration projects.
  • Help maintain and develop health and safety on site.
  • Assess training needs and develop or direct programs to meet those needs.
  • Provide environmental training when required.
  • Manage and complete assigned special projects.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies.
  • Supervise environmental investigations when required. Ensure that information is collected and analyzed in accordance with established procedures and related legal requirements.
  • Implement an environmental management system according to the ISO 14001 standard.
  • Carrying out environmental audits (ISO; VDMD).
  • Develop a corrective and preventative action plan, ensure its implementation and follow up.
  • Develop and maintain corporate social responsibility.
  • Maintain good relations with stakeholders.
  • Participate in the development of a sponsorship plan.
  • Ensure the sharing of knowledge shared by the AMQ and other applicable entities.
  • Develop sampling plans in accordance with current authorizations.
  • Coordinate activities and service providers related to the environment.
  • Participate in and organize site visits.
  • Setting up and implementing protocols.
  • Establish a liaison committee with First Nations and stakeholders.
  • Implement protocols from VDMD.
  • Develop GHG reduction initiatives.
  • Monitor ongoing restoration work and university projects.
