Minimum Requirements:

  • Current enrollment in an undergraduate sciences or engineering program with an environmental, geoscience or policy focus
  • You must be returning to full-time studies after the work term
  • Please attach your most recent transcripts with your application

Responsibilities:

  • Support various reclamation and closure projects, including literature search and reviews, coordination of people/ resources, enabling progress on annual program commitments and requirements
  • Enter, manage, analyze, and compile different types of wildlife, environment and regulatory data
  • Assist in producing standardized environmental reports (GHG and energy) that analyze historical and forecasted data
  • Update and assist in the creation of presentations, reports, spreadsheets, and flowcharts
  • Fort McMurray based roles may prepare samples for lab analysis, and co-ordinate field logistics, such as sample collection, shipping, equipment servicing, and materials supplies

Location & Other Key Details:

  • This is an 8, 12, or 16-month term commitment beginning in January 2025
  • Potential locations for these student roles include Calgary and Fort McMurray (Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo). You will be asked to indicate your availability in your application
  • Relocation support will be provided if required
  • Students who live and work in Fort McMurray are eligible for a cash allowance to address the cost of living and the remote nature of the region
