JOB SUMMARY

The Environmental Services Technician / Personal Support Worker plays a crucial role in maintaining a clean, safe, and healthy environment within our facility. This position is responsible for performing a variety of cleaning and sanitation tasks to ensure compliance with health and safety standards. This position will also entail working with elderly patients and providing one-on-one care such as assisting with personal care, assessments, transfers and health maintenance.
The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, proactive, personable, a clear communicator and committed to providing exceptional service to our community.

SKILLS

• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and their safe usage is preferred.
• Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Good communication skills; interacting with staff and patients.
• Physical stamina to perform repetitive tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.

• Perform routine cleaning and sanitation of designated areas, including patient rooms, restrooms, hallways, and common areas.
• Utilize appropriate cleaning agents and equipment to ensure thorough disinfection and cleanliness.
• Follow established protocols for infection control and safety procedures.
• Comply with Hyperbaric safe linen protocols while laundering 100% cotton linens and scrubs.
• Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the supervisor promptly.
• Assist with waste disposal and recycling efforts in accordance with environmental regulations.
• Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and notify management when stock is low.
• Participate in training sessions to stay updated on best practices in environmental services.
• Assisting with lifting, turning, and positioning patients
• Taking blood pressures, temperatures, pulses, blood sugars and administering first aid.
• Assisting with dressing and grooming.
• Bed Making.
• Assisting patients with their pretreatment digital checklists.
