C & D Foods have an exciting opportunity for a Environmental & Sustainability Manager to join our team. This role will be based in Edgeworthstown, Co. Longford. The Environmental & Sustainability Manager will lead the Environmental Department and will be responsible for coordinating and implementing site wide environmental strategy.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Qualification in a relevant subject related to Environment and Sustainability Management.
- 3 years’ experience in a similar role, experience in a FMCG manufacturing environment is desirable but not essential.
- Strong knowledge of Environmental Legislation and Compliance
- Excellent leadership, interpersonal, verbal/written communication skills.
- Ability to work off own initiative and be innovative.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priortise.
- Ability to influence at all levels in the organisation.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and Power Point Proficiency.
- Working with multidisciplinary groups and stakeholders both on site and within C&D/ABP Group
Responsibilities:
- Maintain, implement and manage environmental policies and management systems.
- Support and Maintain ISO40001 certification for sites environmental management systems and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with environmental legislation and keep up to date with Irish and European Legislation.
- Liaise with relevant bodies such as EPA, local authorities and public bodies.
- Monitoring of all emissions and emission points in accordance with the licensing requirements.
- Generation of reports in response to the legislative requirements inherent in the licenses.
- Lead the environmental team and department being responsible for wastewater treatment processes, systems and compliance.
- Provide effective leadership to the Environmental Team by supporting, training, coaching and guiding the team to achieve department goals.
- Energy Management- Continuously reviewing Electricity and Water Usage.
- WWTP Management- Operational and supervision of the site’s wastewater treatment plant. Directing the plants operators on the ideal running conditions to achieve compliance with licensing conditions and completing daily paperwork for the WWTP.
- Overseeing the operations of sludge treatment optimisation and removal
- Co-ordinate all aspects of pollution control, waste management, recycling, environmental health, conservation and renewable energy.
- Lead sustainability reporting and improvement initiatives around recycling and waste reduction.
- Assist and provide input into Project managing the installation of any new environmental equipment & new technology.
- Lead by example, ensuring the company’s values are upheld in all areas of work.
- Site Decarbonisation plans.
