The Operation
Tritton Copper Operations employs more than 400 people and is located in Hermidale in Western New South Wales. Tritton has two underground copper mines (Tritton and Murrawombie) and currently has an 8-year mine life meaning a stable and prosperous future.
About the role
Working as part of our incredible HSET team, your key purpose in this role is to provide quality support to environmental compliance and monitoring programs.
As an Environmental Technician with Aeris Resources, you will work within an experienced and diverse Environmental team. You will have the opportunity to gain hands on expertise and real-world knowledge sharing that will see your career and passion for the Environment thrive!
The role will see you completing a diverse range of field work tasks within the Environmental space. Much of your time will be spent in the beautiful outdoors, utilising state of the art equipment and tools to assist in conducting the following-
Environmental field sampling and monitoring, including surface water, groundwater, air, erosion, heritage and rehabilitation
Planning for and preparation of, all aspects of monitoring field work, such as land access, sample collection, operation of sampling & monitoring equipment, field analysis, sample logistics, monitoring record management, equipment maintenance and calibration.
Planning and conducting of, scheduled weed & feral animal control programs and land management projects such as firebreak maintenance.
Working with environmental consultants to complete survey field work at site.
Taking part in the completion of site inspections, rehabilitation tasks, and project work.
Assisting with environmental incident investigations and then organising follow up with corrective actions.
Helping Aeris identify any potential environmental risk throughout our Tritton Copper Mine.

You will be a self-starter who is tech-savvy (whether that be specific to HSE, or just in general!) and loves diversity in their daily work routine
You’re passionate about learning new things and are keen to get your foot in the door within the mining industry and make a meaningful contribution to the environment
Strong communication and problem solving skills, combined with your ability to work independently will see you thrive in this role
You’re someone who takes pride in their work and has a great eye for detail, accuracy and quality
MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills
You hold a current manual drivers licence with the ability to competently drive 4WD manual vehicles
