For Carnival Cruise Line, OSM Thome Recruitment is looking for Environmental Technicians for unique career opportunities in the cruise industry.
As Environmental Technician you are part of Carnivals amazing Engine Team. Environmental Technicians help to maintain and repair our ships technical, and equipment in the garbage room. In this job role you will play a vital part in ensuring all equipment is functioning properly to ensure Carnival can provide the best amenities and services to it’s guests so they have a FUN and memorable vacation!

Responsibilities and Tasks:

  • Ensure that all garbage room equipment and incinerators are in working order at all times
  • Responsible that equipment and installations are operated in accordance to manufacturer instructions
  • Ensure that maintenance is performed as required and ashes are disposed of shore in accordance with Company’s policy and procedure
  • Maintain current records of maintenance and repairs
  • Help with the continuous updating and developing of planned maintenance procedures through experience gained with each type of machine on board for which they are responsible.
  • Ensure the inventory of strategic spare parts on board is sufficient to adequately maintain each machine for which they are responsible
  • Ensure the safe and efficient operation of the equipment for which they are responsible
  • Participates in all safety drills and training
  • Any other job assigned by the 1st Engineer or Staff Chief Engineer.

Qualifications and competence:

  • Basic Training Certificates as per STCW standard
  • Min 12 months shipboard experience in this or similar capacity
  • High School Diploma, Technical training
  • English language proficiency
  • Strong focus on ships safety management and environmental policies
  • Follow Carnival’s Occupational and Health policies and procedures at all times
  • Ability to work well with a team
  • Being representative of Carnival Brand
  • US Visa C1/D
  • Covid 19 Certificate

Additionally it is preferred, however not required, with experience as Environmental Technician or similar role onboard cruise ships.
