ABOUT THE ROLE:

John Holland’s Infrastructure division is currently constructing some of Australia’s most complex projects, including the Black Hill to Tomago M1, Gold Coast Light Rail, and Upper South Creek Advanced Water Recycling Centre. Due to industry expansion, the John Holland Infrastructure business is currently seeking a Commissioning Engineer for an upcoming $450m Water Infrastructure project in regional NSW.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE INCLUDE:

  • Ensure Contractor Commissioning plans meet the client’s requirements.
  • Ensure Contractor Commissioning Inspection and Test Plans (ITP’s) and associated checklists meet the client’s requirements.
  • Ensure operational documents prepared by Contractors (which form an aspect of operational readiness) are prepared in accordance with client’s requirements.
  • Collate, review and distribute comments on Contractor draft commissioning plans
  • Review and endorse the final Contractor Commissioning Plan.
  • Review and endorse Contractor Commissioning ITP’s and checklists
  • Review and provide comment on Operating and Maintenance (O&M) Manuals, Safe Operating Procedures (SOP) and Unit Process Guides (UPG)
  • Attendance at FAT, SAT, FDS, and defects walks
  • Participate in HAZOPS, CHAIR and design reviews as required.

TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS KEY ROLE, YOU MUST HAVE:

  • Must have an engineering degree
  • Minimum of 5 years municipal (utility) water/wastewater treatment commissioning experience.
  • Comprehensive experience in the detailed “Planning” of commissioning, proving, and demonstration of wastewater/ water treatment plants, pump stations and pipelines.
  • Proven and comprehensive experience in the successful commissioning, demonstration, operator training and handover of water / wastewater Treatment plants in a timely manner.
  • Proven Experience in the timely preparation and acceptance of comprehensive Commissioning reports and supporting documentation (ITPs, etc.) Experience in managing or undertaking the preparation of operating procedures, maintenance programs/schedules, and operation and maintenance of manuals.
