JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title: Epic Interface Analyst
Location: Remote
Department: Epic Implementation
Reports to: Epic Technical and Integration Manager
Employment Type: Full time, Exempt
Travel Required: Yes
Salary Range: $90,000 to $95,000

SUMMARY

The Interface Analyst will lead the development of the required clinical and business interfaces the Epic system maintains with third party applications and data sources. Current Epic Bridges Certification is a must. Cloverleaf experience is highly preferred, or equivalent with a strong working knowledge of Integration Engine build. The Interface Analyst will collaborate closely with other clinical, patient access, and revenue cycle analysts to determine interface needs based on utilization of third party applications and information sources at Planned Parenthood. The Interface Analyst will understand all issues that arise during and after the project for their application areas and must be very knowledgeable about policies, procedures, and business operations.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

Required

  • Associate degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
  • Previous experience creating, modifying, and testing message structures, events, and connections
  • Providing maintenance, support, and coding enhancements for existing interfaces and applications to meet integration needs
  • Familiarity with Epic
  • Current Epic Bridges Certification
  • Familiarity with Infor Cloverleaf or equivalent
  • Has a demonstrated understanding of the role that racial inequity plays in our society and its impact on healthcare systems and institutions

Preferred

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
  • Strong knowledge of HL7
  • Infor Cloverleaf Level I certified (or equivalent)
  • Prior experience coordinating and troubleshooting HL7 interfaces.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with stakeholders, including staff, board members, and external partners
  • Ability to work independently and with professional discretion
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Excellent management and time management skills

Responsibilities:

  • Conducts Health Level 7 (HL7), and other healthcare data interoperability protocols, interface development and data conversion.
  • Builds HL7 interface system components.
  • Works with Affiliates to analyze, design, document, test, troubleshoot and coordinate implementation of HL7 interfaces.
  • Build, maintain and support Cloverleaf
  • Collects workflow information and develop interface specifications and data flow diagrams
  • Provides maintenance, support, and coding enhancements for existing interfaces and applications to meet integration needs between Epic and other clinical and financial applications.
  • Conducts data analysis, data transformation and data load into Epic database for both population health and new ambulatory practices.
  • Monitors interface and application error logs to overcome production and testing issues.
  • Validates interface logic and measure log files.
  • Creates, modifies and tests message structures, events and connections.
  • Conducts operating system, cache, and Epic Bridges upgrades and executes database backup and recovery procedures.
  • Creates and maintains scripts for billing and clinical workflows.
  • Creates and maintains test interfaces.
  • Participates in change management, disaster recovery and production support operations.
