Description:

We are seeking an experienced Equality Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Lead Officer to join our People and Transformation Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading on the delivery of our EDI Strategy, developing, implementing and monitoring initiatives and co-ordinating activities with our EDI Working Group.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver the Councils EDI Action plan in line with the Public Sector Equality Duty and Councils EDI Strategy.
  • Preparation of EDI reports, including presentations to strategic leadership team and other stakeholders.
  • Development and delivery of EDI training and awareness campaigns.
  • Develop EDI policies in alignment with Equality Act (2010) and review and update existing policies to ensure they are EDI complaint.
  • Collect, analyse and report on EDI data and identify areas of improvement (both internally and externally).

About You:

  • You will be experienced in the delivery of key EDI action plans with a working understanding of the Public Sector Equality Duty.
  • You will have an eye for detail and data and the ability to translate this into effective EDI actions and plans.
  • You are able to prioritise your own workload in a busy environment and use your own initiative to get things done.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to suit a range of audiences including elected Members, Businesses, Community Organisations, senior managers, other staff and members of the public.
  • You will be a networker and develop strong working relationships both internally and externally and champion the EDI agenda.
