As an Equipment Engineer in Test Solutions Engineering Key Equipment Group (TSE KEG) at Micron Technology, Inc., you will be responsible for the development, improvement, qualification and leadership through the process of developing new and existing equipment, hardware, software and processes!
You will work with Manufacturing, Test Engineering, Process Engineering, QA, Suppliers and other manufacturing resources to specify, develop, integrate and qualify new systems for manufacturing. You will provide technical leadership, direction and assistance in the US and internationally with the charter of enabling new technology by improving cost, yield, cycle time, reliability, safety, and product quality.
Responsibilities for this role will include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Technical and people/team leadership skills.
- Automated Test Equipment and process development for new technology, manufacturing applications, and improvements that will deploy at all of Micron’s production Test locations worldwide.
- Establish new equipment specifications, design requirements, and qualification processes.
- Manage projects from definition through first of kind deployment into production.
- Manage area(s) of responsibility to meet expectations of TSE programs and business processes.
- Responsible for driving to primary business processes.
- Work in parallel with equipment vendors to develop solutions from inception to production ramp.
- Establish technical expertise on equipment and provide technical support to internal and external customers.
- Mentor, lead, and/or collaborate with global copy-smart teams as the need arises.
- Identify and determine origin of deviation, isolate cause and provide solutions.
- Develop, coordinate and drive experiments and data collections across the manufacturing sites to make data-driven decisions.
- Design, fabricate, assemble and qualify new designs.
- Design with safety, ergonomics and Micron device quality considerations.
- Develop new equipment and modification procedures, training, and documentation.
- Be able to present data, design reviews and information to manufacturing, technical teams and management effectively.
- Occasional travel required.
Successful candidates for this position will have:
- Experience includes the ability to present to the accurate level, build/own Power Point slides & content, conduct data compilation & reviews, host functional design reviews, perform 8D & root cause analysis and to regularly own/provide information to production and management
- Knowledge of machine/equipment design and development
- Experience with 3D CAD modeling including stress/structural, thermal and flow analysis
- Knowledge and/or practice in machining, welding, surface treatments, mechanics and electrical circuits/diagrams
- Ability to establish and maintain project ownership from inception to integration & proliferation
- The ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently and drive them to a timely conclusion
- Experience in leadership, project management with multi-functional teams
- Experience with supplier management
- Ability to perform Return on Investment and Cost of Ownership studies to understand project viability early in the lifecycle
- Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
- An understanding of safety including ergonomics, OSHA and safe design principles
- Proficiency in statistics, data analysis and Design of Experiments.
- Excellent grasp of mechanical and electrical engineering fundamentals
- Proficiency in statistics, data analysis, and design of experiments
- High degree of self-initiative with an ability to think independently
- Flexibility to accommodate off-shift meetings in other time zones
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
- A Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
