Description:
POSITION SUMMARY AND OBJECTIVES
The Equipment Maintenance position is responsible for performing preventative maintenance and repairs to the HVAC systems, particularly large motors, and mechanical equipment within the Place de Ville complex.
EDUCATION
- Ontario Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) certificate and related experience
- The successful candidate must pass and maintain a Government of Canada security clearance.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
- Experience in the maintenance and repair of fans, pumps, drive systems and knowledge of HVAC, plumbing systems and pressure reducing valves.
- Certification of experience relating to steam and chilled water, instrumentation, controls systems and welding
- Excellent computer skills (Word, Excel etc.)
- Ability to identify and resolve operational issues
- The successful candidate will have knowledge of safe work practices and the ability to work together with contractors with the aim of having maintenance and repair tasks completed efficiently and safely.
Responsibilities:
- Perform preventative maintenance and reports, to HVAC drive systems and pumps
- Plan and execute the installation of new equipment in conjunction with in-house trades person and contractors
- Assist the Chief Engineer and the Operations Manager in the review of systems and designs to ensure that building standards are maintained and that operations will not be adversely affected by on-going or future modifications to the systems
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in the operation and design of these systems
- Work co-operatively with in-house staff and contractors. Assist other staff in mechanical drive maintenance.
- Perform other related responsibilities as requested from time to time
