Description:

J. Stern & Co. is a leading investment partnership managing over $2bn in assets, with offices in London, New York, Zurich and Malta.

We have an exciting opportunity for an equity analyst to join our growing Investment Team where you may be able to lead coverage of sectors early in your tenure depending on your experience. You will be joining an established firm and you will be working on our top ranked Global Equity fund which has over $1.5bn of assets under management. You will:

  • Conduct in-depth fundamental research on companies across a variety of sectors and geographies.
  • Build and maintain detailed financial models.
  • Write clear and thorough research reports.
  • Present investment ideas and conclusions to the Investment team.
  • Engage with and lead meetings with the firm’s management, sell-side analysts and attend external events and conferences.
  • Work with our dedicated ESG team to assist with the preparation of ESG analysis and reports.
  • Support the Investment team in addressing any ad-hoc requests from across the business.

You will have the following experience:

  • Around 2 years’ experience of relevant equity analysis across sectors and/or geographies.
  • ‘Deep dive’ company and financial analysis experience including understanding and interpreting balance sheets, income and cashflow statements.
  • Presenting investment recommendations to senior colleagues.
  • Advanced level Excel skills covering financial modelling, VBA, macros, data analysis and charts.
  • Excellent academic background with at least a bachelor’s degree level education or an equivalent qualification preferably in business, finance or accounting.

In addition, you will be:

  • An excellent communicator (both written and spoken) who easily adapts your communication style to suit your audience.
  • A self-starter with a passion for investing.
  • Numerate, intellectually curious and thorough.
  • Able to summarise complex information for different audiences.
