Do you want to work for an organization where people care about each other? We are currently looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic and experienced Human Resources professional to support the area of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI).
This position will be responsible for the ongoing implementation, evaluation and maintenance of the College’s Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) Plan and programs. This position facilitates an environment that is both inclusive and non-discriminatory for all staff, faculty, and students at the College across the Toronto and Boucher campuses.
Reporting to the Executive Director, Human Resources, a large focus of this role will be coordinating and maintaining the College’s Equity, Diversity and Inclusion programs. The successful candidate will engage stakeholders to create an open and inclusive environment. They will ensure AODA compliance, take part in the Accessibility Council, support staff, faculty and students in all areas related to EDI, ensure adherence to provincial and federal legislative requirements, and manage training associated with EDI.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Post-secondary degree in a related field (i.e., Education, Psychology, Social Work or Human Resources)
  • Understanding and commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion principles
  • Experience in a similar role or work in the EDI area
  • Formal training and experience in investigations is an asset
  • Thorough knowledge of legislation related to EDI in both Ontario and British Columbia
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook, MS Project)
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to deal effectively– both orally and in writing- with individuals at all levels within the organization
  • Ability to work independently, as well as, collaboratively as part of a team and participate in consultative decision-making
  • Strong conflict management skills to deal with a wide variety of stakeholders and manage sensitive issues in a professional manner
  • Excellent organization, time management, analytical and research skills
  • Tact, discretion and ability to exercise professional judgment in a highly confidential environment
