Roles and responsibilities

  • Reviewing and producing written reports on the tax implications of various employment related share ownership situations
  • Drafting EMI, CSOP and non-tax advantaged share option scheme documentation
  • Calculating the personal and corporate tax implications in connection with employee share ownership
  • Reviewing annual Employment Related Securities returns and providing advice thereon
  • Drafting fiscal valuations for the purposes of tax-advantaged share schemes or meeting PAYE liabilities
  • Researching legislation, including providing technical analysis on the tax treatment on various share incentive arrangements and the impact new legislation may have on clients.
  • Managing and training the more junior members of the Equity Reward team.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

  • Holds relevant professional qualification such as ACA or CTA (or equivalent) or has equivalent experience.
  • Experience of tax advisory projects primarily for privately owned businesses
  • Knowledge of the tax treatment of share options and other forms of employee share ownership
  • Experience of implementing or advising on at least some of EMI, CSOP, growth shares and ERS reporting
  • Experience of share incentive audits, due diligences and drafting share valuations an advantage
  • Interest in the wider share incentive scheme drivers and implications of reward
