Description:

JOB SUMMARY AND OBJECTIVE

The Escrow Insurance Clerk supports the Banks loan operations department by complying with all regulations for safety and soundness. Responsibilities include paying taxes & insurance on loan accounts, tracking insurance, force placing insurance, flood insurance and perform loan maintenance.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

High school diploma or equivalent.
Six months to one year experience in a financial institution preferred, but not required.
Good oral and written communication skills in order to effectively communicate with customers and third parties about the banks escrow loans and insurance policies.
Familiarity with/ability to learn Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and other common PC- based software.
Ability to read and comprehend training materials, and all bank communications.

Responsibilities:

This position performs the following duties, including but not limited to:
Performs clerical duties as related to processing escrow transaction, including processing loan escrows, and maintaining departmental records.
Analyzes, researches all reports related to customer escrow accounts.
Answers all inquiries concerning insurance and escrow processing and information.
Ensures accuracy in every aspect of the escrow and insurance process.
Reviews new and renewal insurance policies.
Closes record on policies that have lapsed and provides other insurance follow-up as necessary.
Manages files relating to hazard, and other insurance policies.
Report losses to insurance companies.
Establishes and maintains frequent contact with insurance companies for reports and general information on changes in insurance policies.
Responsible for adequate insurance coverage for financial institution loans, providing follow-up on policies categorized as current or inactive.
Updates reports for force place insurance.
Prepares monthly reports for Plateau insurance.
Cross trains in other areas of Credit Administration Dept.
Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
