Description:

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Experience with engagement and ESG research
  • Experience with industry ESG reporting requirements and ESG related client queries is preferable
  • Highly collaborative and team-oriented, within and across teams
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Highly organised, reliable and self-motivated with an ability to organise and prioritise multiple tasks and deadlines
  • Strong research and analytical skills
  • Strong sense of accountability and responsibility to produce high quality work and strive for continuous improvement
  • Knowledge of ESG and sustainability issues and willingness to learn
  • IMC and/or higher degree in a sustainability-related subject an advantage

Responsibilities:

PURPOSE

As active investors, we believe the inclusion of environmental, social and governance (ESG) factors, analysis and research in the investment process is integral to fundamental financial analysis. Our stewardship focuses on using our influence to create long-term, sustainable value and better outcomes for our clients, society and the environment.
We are proud to be a signatory to the UK Stewardship Code as well as the stewardship codes of the key markets in which we invest, as well as signatory to the Principles for Responsible Investment for close to a decade.

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • ESG research to support our investment desks with ESG integration and thematic research
  • Engaging with investee companies on key sustainability priorities including our net zero and deforestation commitments and strategy specific ESG issues - directly, supporting our investment managers and through collaborative initiatives
  • Preparing associated monitoring, reporting and communication with clients
  • Developing relevant policies, guidelines, processes and procedures on topic sustainability themes
  • Identifying opportunities and where appropriate take responsibility for additional initiatives and activities that contribute to the success of GAM’s sustainability strategy.
