Wilhelmsen Ships Service (WSS) is looking for ESG Analysts
Do you have a passion for sustainability? Do you want to contribute to shaping the maritime industry of tomorrow? Do you want to work in the interface between sustainability and strategy - with a global presence and real impact on customers, product development and operations? Do you want hands on experience with implementing ESG strategy in an operational context and see the change up close?
Then join our high caliber and truly global team as ESG Analyst in the WSS ESG Team!
Wilhelmsen Ships Service is looking for ESG Analysts to help take our ESG strategy from theory to practice, driving the change in the company from within. The people at WSS don’t just hold jobs here. They make the most innovative ideas a reality, and with the largest maritime network in the world, we do work that makes an impact - if it floats, our products are probably on it.
Our ambition is to continuously improve and grow - and position the business for a more sustainable maritime industry. We expect significant new investments over the next years to accelerate these efforts. The position will be part of the newly established ESG team in WSS, which belongs to the larger Finance, Strategy and ESG team, responsible for accelerating and supporting both the growth and sustainability agenda. You will report to the ESG Director in WSS and will get to work broadly with all areas of ESG in a practical and operational context. We are looking for someone who has strong analytical skills and numerical aptitude who is eager to help drive ESG within the organization.
As ESG Analyst in WSS, you will help facilitate ESG developments in the company through data analysis, assessments of aspects within the E, S and G, and you will be able to influence our business decisions with your findings and recommendations. The role therefore requires a person with a proactive and performance-based mindset that wants to be part of addressing ESG risks and creating long-term value creation.

What you will be doing:

  • Analysis of information within all aspects of E, S and G.
  • Contribute to identifying and developing information where it is not already available
  • Take an active role in projects established to facilitate strategy implementation as well as compliance with reporting obligations through identifying, analyzing and summarizing information, contributing to recommendations for next actions.
  • Conduct risk and opportunity analysis and collect and systemize data related to topics such as scope 3 and product impacts, climate and nature risks, human rights, governance, and other topics as relevant
  • Analyze GHG data and help the organization reduce its emissions
  • Contribute to ensuring high quality and robust ESG data in WSS
  • Support the implementation of the ESG strategy and road map for WSS, and contribute to developing ESG in WSS through your insights and recommendations

What we are looking for:

  • University degree within economics, business administration, law or similar.
  • 1 - 3 years of relevant working experience from either consulting, audit, or industry.
  • Analytical mindset, numerical aptitude and ability to think holistically
  • Experience from strategy processes is a plus
  • Good knowledge of Excel as well as Business Intelligence platforms, especially PowerBI is an advantage.
  • Practical business sense and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to communicate findings and make recommendations
  • Solid command of the English language (oral and written)
  • Experience with ESG is an advantage, but not a requirement

What we offer:

Working in Wilhelmsen offers a culture and work environment of strong leadership, career development, work-life balance and a job that is both challenging and stimulating. Beyond this, we offer a benefits package tailored to your location which include but are not limited to:

  • Flexible/Hybrid Work
