ARE YOU AN EXPERIENCED DATA ANALYST WITH KNOWLEDGE OF ENVIRONMENTAL / ESG REPORTING? BURO HAPPOLD HAS AN EXCITING OPPORTUNITY FOR AN ESG DATA ANALYST TO JOIN OUR TEAM IN BATH.

You will be responsible for successfully supporting the Global Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Manager to develop, maintain and continuously improve Buro Happold’s data capture, analysis, reporting and disclosure of Environmental, Social and Governance performance metrics for the practice.
The ideal candidate for this role will aim to become the Subject Matter Expert in internal ESG performance data analysis and reporting at Buro Happold. Achieving success in this position will require aligning Buro Happold’s internal ESG performance reporting with evolving best practices and our ESG client consulting services.
The role involves collaborating with internal stakeholders to develop a cost-effective platform for ESG data gathering, analysis, and reporting, while providing timely and insightful ESG data analysis expertise for Buro Happold’s regions and central services.

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Capable of identifying, collecting, migrating, cleansing, manipulating, and analysing data from various software and systems.
  • Skilled in interpreting requirements and presenting data clearly and compellingly using graphical representations and visualizations.
  • Proficient in designing and conducting data validation, error checking, and quality assurance.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel, including the design of complex spreadsheets, pivot tables, and charts (SQL query experience preferred).
  • Experienced with the MS Office suite, including Word, PowerPoint, and Teams.
  • Strong awareness of, and ideally practical experience in, environmental sustainability and ESG reporting, including familiarity with standards and frameworks such as SBTi, GHG Protocol, TCFD, and GRI.
  • Proficient in using Business Intelligence tools like PowerBI or Tableau.
  • Experience in specifying and selecting third-party business analysis and reporting platforms.
  • Data science qualification.
  • Experience working in a global organisation and adapting communication styles to different countries and cultures.

KEY DUTIES:

  • Maintain and continuously enhance the company’s internal greenhouse gas (GHG) data capture, analysis, and reporting system, ensuring it remains fit for purpose and aligns with the GHG Protocol and broader industry best practices.
  • Create and provide data analysis and reporting to monitor performance against Buro Happold’s ESG key performance indicators.
  • Assist in creating a global ESG performance reporting platform for Buro Happold, whether through internal development or by procuring and implementing a third-party system.
  • Stay informed about global best practices in carbon footprint and broader ESG reporting methodologies and solutions to guide continuous development in this area at Buro Happold.
  • Provide ESG performance reports for inclusion in regular management updates, such as regional and global management meetings, as well as external reports like the Global Sustainability Report.
