We are seeking an Estimating student for our Montreal district that is available for 4 months or 8 months full time starting on January 6 2025.
Here’s how an Estimating Student for our Montreal office contributes to our team:

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Candidates must have a strong desire to work in a construction environment and prior field construction experience will be considered an asset.
  • Application of various computer software programs will be required, including word processing, spreadsheet applications and drafting.
    PCL Student wages are determined individually for each student based on the number of completed school terms, relevant work terms, kind of role and work location.

Responsibilities:

  • Understanding and utilizing PCL’s estimating manuals, systems and forms
  • Reviewing quantity survey assignment with lead estimator or Chief Estimator
  • Performing assigned quantity survey
  • Giving quantities of major purchase items to purchasing department for pricing
  • Transferring quantities to lead estimator
  • Performing general subtrade solicitation duties
  • Bid document control
  • Performing bid day assignments
  • Visiting job sites periodically
  • Developing relationships with subcontractors
  • Other duties as assigned by the Chief Estimator
