Description:
An exciting opportunity exists for an Estimations Officer to join Mackay Regional Council’s Design Services team.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
- Qualifications in Quantity Surveying, Project Management, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Cost Engineering, or related fields.
- Associate Diploma, Associate Degree, or equivalent experience.
- QLD C Class Drivers Licence
- General Construction Induction White Card
- Practical experience in calculating project costs on a first principle estimating basis.
- Ability to interpret architectural and engineering drawingsas well as project specifications.
- Experience with computerised estimating software (e.g., Benchmark Estimating Software, Expert Estimation).
Responsibilities:
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Shall include, but not be limited to:
- Develop and review cost estimates for MRC Capital WorksProjects in a timely manner in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
- Utilise various estimate techniques and estimating software to ensure the accurate estimation of project costs.
- Contribute to the development and monitoring of project budgets and prepare detailed cost analysis reports to ensure accurate financial management through project lifecycles.
- Update and maintain item and resource libraries directly relating to the estimating software platform including, but not limited to, cost of labour, material, and plant.
- Update and maintain the specification suite with relevant industry updates to contribute to compliance and alignment with current standards.
