About the role:
The Ethical Sourcing Coordinator will partner with Bunnings suppliers to protect our brands, have a positive impact and provide the best offer to our customers through the delivery of the Ethical Sourcing program.
Led by the Ethical Sourcing Manager, the primary purpose of this role is to support the delivery of the Ethical Sourcing manufacturer requirements in a commercial context through the effective implementation, and ongoing development of Bunnings Ethical Sourcing Standards.
This role will continuously improve existing processes for upholding human rights and mandatory social standards throughout the supply chain, including supporting supply chain transparency, complete human rights risk assessments, monitor ethical sourcing controls and review audits, reporting on supplier progress, and supporting the identification and remediation of critical breaches and corrective actions.
Furthermore, the role will support the governance, reporting and modern slavery risk management and work collaboratively with Bunnings’ Global Sourcing and Merchandise departments.

What’s involved:

  • Administer the ongoing implementation and monitoring of the Ethical Sourcing Factory and Supplier Accreditation framework (FIS/FIW/FOB and GNFR) via existing internal controls and the use of the external audit process
  • Drive the effective implementation of the SEDEX supply chain mapping process with Sourcing Agents / Manufacturers, both with the existing supplier base and the continued on-boarding of new suppliers
  • Monitor factory accreditation status and corrective action requirements
  • To maintain Bunnings’ Ethical Sourcing database (Factory Master, Contact List, Main data, Critical Breach) with focus on maintaining accurate manufacturer and accreditation information
  • Communicate with Suppliers, Manufacturers, Supply Chain and Merchants to ensure all required Ethical Sourcing workflow actions for bringing in a new supplier/manufacturer are undertaken in an effective manner and to specified deadlines
  • Support the Ethical Sourcing Manager on System developments and enhancements to ensure continuous improvement and strategic objectives are met.

You’ll need:

  • Bachelor’s degree - Sustainability, Law, Commerce, International Business and/or Economics preferred but not essential
  • Minimum 3 - 5 years’ experience in a sustainability / responsible or ethical sourcing role with ethical auditing experience advantageous
  • Retail industry experience highly regarded
  • Navigating factory and compliance programs within a commercial environment also highly regarded
  • Strong understanding of human rights concepts, international frameworks/principles and reporting requirements
  • Experience in use of Microsoft Office software – Excel & Access
  • Experience in interpreting complex regulations & standards conducting site assessments
  • Relationship building and networking skills (internationally/nationally)
  • Ability to adapt to change within a fast-paced environment.
