DESCRIPTION
EU Liaison Policy Officer at the ESA’s Brussels Office, Director General’s Cabinet, Director General’s Services.
Under the authority of the Head of the ESA’s Brussels office, your main responsibilities will include liaising with EU institutions and promoting the role of the Agency in support of EU policies and programmes.
EDUCATION
A master’s degree in a relevant domain, such as international relations, political science, EU affairs or European law, is required for this post.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Experience in a Member State administration, possibly in space, would be an asset
Experience with analytically assessing and summarising background and contextual information in a concise manner
Strong writing skills
Ability to work in a self-directed manner while maintaining good internal coordination and a positive team spirit
Experience with public speaking and excellent presentation skills would be an asset
Responsibilities:
In particular, your duties will include the following:
- Maintaining relations with EU institutions
- Maintain relations with EU institutions, notably the European Commission, the Council of the European Union, the European Parliament, the European Economic and Social Committee and the Committee of the Regions, as well as Member State Representations and EU Agencies;
- Develop and maintain contacts with the European External Action Service
- Expand and maintain relations with non-space EU bodies of interest for the Agency’s activities
- Promoting the Agency’s role
- Actively promote the Agency’s policies and programmes and foster coherence between the objectives of EU policies and ESA programmes;
- Organise events, seminars and meetings
- Analysing EU policies
- Monitor EU policies, notably those relevant to space
- Provide internal reports and analyses on a regular basis
- Analytically assess and summarise background and contextual information from a wide variety of formal and informal sources
- Contribute to briefings, speeches, presentations and newsletters
- Providing management support
- Contribute to the preparation of action plans
- Establish action plans and monitor implementation
- Internal reporting
Other ad hoc tasks may be required in response to emerging needs.
While intended to be longer term, assignments may need to be revised as needs arise.
