The Role & What You Will Be Doing
Advocating for regulatory and legislative policies that align with the Viatris’ interests, you will ensure compliance with EU regulations. In this role, you will also engage with stakeholders, monitor policy developments, and influence decision-making processes to support Viatris’ strategic goals.

  • Monitor, analyze, and interpret EU policy developments, legislative proposals, and regulatory changes affecting the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of advocacy strategies connected to EU policy and regulatory frameworks in line with Viatris’ objectives.
  • Draft position papers, policy briefs, and consultation responses to effectively communicate Viatris’ positions.
  • Engage with industry associations, NGOs, and other stakeholders to build coalitions and drive collaborative policy initiatives.
  • Contribute to the development of Viatris’ EU policy agenda and strategic priorities.
  • Provide regular updates and reports to senior management on policy developments and advocacy activities.
  • Identify and assess potential risks and opportunities arising from policy changes.
  • Work closely with the Brussels Policy Office lead and with Viatris’ regional and local teams to align EU policy efforts with broader corporate strategies.
  • Provide policy advice and support to internal teams, including regulatory, market access, CSR, supply chain, and communications.
  • Support management of Viatris’ presence at key trade associations, ensuring active participation and representation in relevant committees and working groups.
  • Coordinate with trade associations to advance Viatris’ policy positions and advocacy efforts.

About Your Skills & Experience
For this role, we’re looking for a candidate who has an effective combination of the following qualifications, skills and experiences:
-

Master’s degree in Law, Political Science, International Relations, Public Policy, or a related field (Public Health, etc.).

  • 0-3 years of experience in EU policy, public affairs, or a related field, preferably within the pharmaceutical or healthcare sector.
  • Fluent in English; knowledge of other EU languages is a plus.
  • Basic understanding of the EU legislative process, pharmaceutical and healthcare regulations, and pharmaceutical industry trends.
  • Ability to analyze complex policy issues and contribute to the development of strategic advocacy plans.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to draft clear and precise policy documents.
  • Basic knowledge of trade, sustainability, and digital policy topics is an asset.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • High level of professionalism, integrity, and attention to detail.
