We are currently seeking a European Finance Director located at our site in Winnersh, UK, who will be responsible for providing financial leadership of the FP&A, business partnering, accounting functions for Europe.

What we’ll get you doing:

  • Lead regional financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes, providing accurate financial reports to executive management and global finance teams.
  • Partner with regional leadership to execute strategies that drive growth and profitability. Manage regional P&L to ensure performance targets are met. Develop and monitor key operational metrics to drive financial performance.
  • Identify and pursue process and profitability improvements leveraging DBS fundamentals and tools across the EU region.
  • Manage working capital and partner with other business leaders to optimize regional DSO, DPO and inventory turns.
  • Oversee regional financial close processes and consolidation of financial data for reporting at regional and global level
  • Ensure compliance with statutory laws and financial regulations across European countries.
  • Ensure adequate controls are in place and followed, such as delegation of authority, SOX requirements, and compliance with US GAAP and Danaher Accounting Policies.
  • Provide local technical accounting guidance on matters impacting European entities, in consultation with the Global Corporate Controller.
  • Lead the European FP&A and Accounting teams, constantly raising expectations and developing a world-class organization. Establish best practices and instill a culture of accountability, integrity, and transparency.

The essential requirements of the role include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field
  • 15+ years of progressive leadership experience in financial planning and analysis or accounting, preferably in a complex, multinational, multi-site environment.
  • Deep understanding of US GAAP, IFRS and EU Statutory reporting and compliance requirements.
  • Experience in implementing and managing financial planning tools and processes. Continuous improvement mindset with the ability to challenge norms and existing processes.
  • Expertise in financial modeling, analysis, and reporting tools.
  • Ability to influence and collaborate with senior stakeholders across the organization.
  • Ability to demonstrate effective leadership in ambiguous and frequently changing situations.

It would be a plus if you also posseses:

  • MBA or CPA
  • Experience in a matrixed organization
  • Strong leadership skills with a track record of growing and leading high-performance teams.
