Description:
DESCRIPTION
This role will support the strategic and tactical fleet/automotive electrification deployment for The Company’s ground fleet. They will work closely with the Enterprise Project Management Office (EPMO), Fleet Engineering, Regional Operations Teams, and OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers) to implement/deploy Fleet electrical infrastructure in support of Purolator`s Electrification initiative. This Engineer will assess terminal route requirements and terminal electrical requirements to ensure the correct Electric Vehicle “Right Vehicle Right Route” fits the route cargo volume and weight to optimize cost per kilometer.
EDUCATION
Engineering degree preferably with mechanical, electrical, or mechatronics designation.
EXPERIENCE
- 4-6 years of industry experience in automotive, electrical, or related industry.
- Experience in deploying electric infrastructure/building electrification and maintenance practices.
- Knowledge of applicable codes related to facilities and electrical equipment.
- Knowledge of electro-mechanical testing practices, procedures, and methodologies.
- Experience with the design and installation of electrical charging systems.
- Experience in project deployment methods and project management tools.
- Knowledge of vehicles, automotive components, automotive safety regulations, and industrial electrical equipment.
- Structured thinking to identify opportunities to improve productivity, maintenance practices, courier or technician safety, and operational procedures.
- Criteria to evaluate the impact of changing electric vehicle components and spec’s regarding safety, reliability, quality, and productivity.
- Strong competency with advanced spreadsheets and database to analyze data and creating KPIs.
- Presentation skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office and PowerBI.
- Strong financial acumen that will support the preparation of business cases for executive leadership.
Responsibilities:
This role will support and be a key member of the Electrification team of the Purolator Fleet strategic and tactical electrification priorities such as:
- Deploy current and future Electric charging solutions for all types of Purolator electric vehicles to meet corporate Green House Gas, GHG, reduction targets.
- Act as Fleet lead at multiple terminals driving the facility changes required to support the electrification of the Purolator Fleet. Provide charging solutions which minimize the impact to our customer as much as possible to execute this change to be as transparent as possible for all our customers.
- Work closely with OEMs to understand and evaluate the implementation of Electrical charging technologies at multiple terminals in Purolator network. Provide recommendations for the best/appropriate solutions to deploy charging infrastructure in terminals managing timing, delivery & cost.
- Change leadership and understanding of project management sourcing, delivering, and activating Electrical infrastructure across Canada.
- Support our Regional Fleet Managers and Technicians with training, process, tools and facility changes required to support the electrification of the Purolator Fleet.
- Analyze data to perform predictive analytics leading to opportunities for improvement.
- Report and present findings using PowerBI.
- Industry involvement, focusing on Electric charging infrastructure, associations, publications, newsletters, conferences along with extensive networking.
- Work closely with Fleet Electrification OEM suppliers to enhance current spec’s, design new features both for safety and productivity, with a sight on maintenance intervals and repair times.
- Initiate and develop tracking tools to measure accountability of project, results, and timely execution.
- Design, develop, maintain, and support analytical tools by using fleet information from different sources such as Telematics, GIS, and SAP-TM.
