The One King’s Impact (OKI) programme sits within International, Engagement & Service (IES), a new Directorate at King’s that brings together the expertise of teams engaging with communities and partners locally, nationally and globally. It provides strategic leadership for the university’s engagement at home and abroad with IES teams leading a portfolio of innovative programmes that generate and measure impact and serve the communities we work with and for.
In addition to One King’s Impact, IES is home to some of King’s most innovative and impact-driven programming including Sanctuary, the Afe Babalola Centre for Transnational Education, and King’s Volunteering, among others, as well as our civic and place-based engagement in London, and across the world.
About the role:

King’s has recently launched a university-wide approach to impact, One King’s Impact, that unifies our research, education, service and engagement activities to strengthen and focus our efforts to serve society. Through extensive consultation, our community pinpointed five critical challenge areas where King’s can make a distinctive and meaningful impact on the world and where we believe we can harness our connections and expertise to help shape a better future for our societies and our planet.

The Evaluation & Engagement Manager is an exciting, new post within the core One King’s Impact team that will lead on two key aspects of the programme:

  • Data, evidence & evaluation
  • Communications & engagement

They will be responsible for the implementation and delivery of the One King’s Impact’s approach to data, evidence and evaluation. You will identify and use a range of techniques and tools across a variety of data sources, ensuring that evidence and insight is key to enhance propositions, measurement of impact, building reputation, institutional benchmarking and overall reporting of the programme.
This role holder will also lead on the development and delivery of communications and engagement, to connecting stakeholders and showcasing One King’s Impact activity both within and beyond the university and reinforcing King’s ambitions to make the world a better place.

This is a full time post (35 hours per week), and you will be offered a fixed term contract until 31st July 2026, with the possibility of extension.
About you:
To be successful in this role, you will need to have the following skills and experience:

Essential criteria

  • Able to use one or more business intelligence tools to an advanced standard, for example Power BI, Tableau, Alteryx, SQL, R, M, Python, Power Fx, Excel, VBA.
  • Highly developed analytical skills including experience working with a range of different types and sources of data and with extensive knowledge of the means through which insight can be derived from data.
  • Able to deploy a range of techniques to evaluate, model, interpret and visualize data, for example, scenario planning, horizon scanning and statistical modelling.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate the outcome of analysis by delivering presentations and technical reports to a wide audience, including non-specialist ones.
  • Experience of working with a range of senior stakeholders to build levels of engagement and utilising data analytics effectively to influence outcomes.
  • Ability to understand and translate complex themes and messages for internal and external audiences, alongside expertise in how to create and communicate those messages in credible and impactful ways.
  • Experience of communication planning, strategy and methods with ability to adapt to multiple styles and uses, editing and proofing skills with an eye for detail.
  • Experience of working with Content Management Systems e.g., Contensis.

Desirable criteria

  • Knowledge of the Higher Education sector.
  • Experience of working cross-organisationally in a complex environment with competing priorities.
