Description:
Our client, a leading catering company, is on the lookout for an experienced Chef to lead their evening operations in one of their Cork locations.
Chef would be responsible for all aspects of the evening service and be able to work on their own initiative. This role is ideal for someone looking for set and steady hours.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Proven experience as a senior chef de partie or sous chef in a restaurant or catering establishment.
- Strong culinary skills with a focus on creativity, flavour, and presentation.
- Knowledge of kitchen equipment, food safety practices, and menu development.
- Ability to work as a team member and on their own initiative.
- Willingness to work evenings and weekends as needed (pick a weekend shift every 2-3 weekends).
Responsibilities:
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Follow directions from the head chef and be responsible for all aspects of the evening service.
- Oversee the preparation of dishes, ensuring consistency and adherence to recipes and presentation standards.
- Ensuring kitchen staff adhere to set standards, procedures, department rules, and sanitation requirements.
- Managing the kitchen inventory, ensuring supplies are fresh and of high quality, and managing food costs to meet budgetary goals.
- Ensuring proper food temperatures when cooking and proper storage afterward.
- Keeping the workstation and kitchen equipment clean, organized, and sanitized.
- Act as a role model for kitchen staff, promoting a positive and professional work environment.
- Promote a welcoming work environment for staff and customers.
