The Event Coordinator will support the Events & Entertainment Team in delivering exceptional customer service and executing event plans for various events and venues.
This position will support the Events & Entertainment team in effectively delivering events at Bonnetts Energy Centre, The Bowes, Montrose Cultural and various outdoor locations. They will also assist with and lead logistics leading up to event days, ensuring the venue is ready to welcome guests, artists, and athletes.
This position will assist efforts in event execution under the guidance of the Event Manager. They will assist with current initiatives including communication, administrative tasks and guest feedback.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Diploma in marketing, business, events, or a related field
- Candidates must have a minimum of two years experience in events
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- The ability to present yourself in a positive and professional manner using clear communication both verbal and written
- Be self-motivated, flexible and able to organize your work to maintain tasks within established standards and timelines
- The ability to work well both independently and within a team
- The confidence to make on the spot decisions and problem solve
- Commitment & desire to fulfill this term position and a busy schedule including all Statutory Holidays, evenings and weekends as required
- A creative and enthusiastic personality, with exceptional customer service
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s license and transportation
Responsibilities:
- Lead aspects of event planning and execution, as assigned by the Event Manager;
- Effectively monitor and provide written reports for pre, during, and post event;
- Assist in the development and management of in-house and co-promoted events to maximize revenues;
- Assist venue rental clients with event readiness and setup;
- Work in conjunction with Alberta Gaming Liquor Commission, Alberta Health Services, Fire Department, Safety Codes;
- Prep venue before events, including guest wayfinding signage, artist welcome packages and wayfinding, tour welcome information packages;
- Assist the Event Manager ensuring all event setup requirements are met;
- Administrative tasks as requested by Event Manager;
- Hold an exemplary level of confidentiality and professionalism;
- Develop and maintain industry and community relationships; and
- Other duties as assigned
