Description:

At the Vancouver Convention Centre, a division of BC Pavilion Corporation (PavCo), we work to create unforgettable moments, world-class experiences and stronger connections to community, industry and culture.
As British Columbia’s flagship convention centre, we host more than 500 events each year and welcomes hundreds of thousands of global attendees to premier conferences, trade shows, banquets and more.

WE ARE THE VANCOUVER CONVENTION CENTRE:

  • Do you have a passion for meetings and events?
  • Are you an expert communicator comfortable employing a broad range of communication styles to different audiences and scenarios?
  • Do you thrive in a high-pace teamwork environment working with purpose to see your clients and colleagues succeed?
We’re seeking a proactive and self-motivated Event Coordinator to guide our customers and internal teams, seamlessly through planning and event execution. You appreciate the results of purposeful work and building relations with new and existing clients, industry partners, and suppliers.
Providing proactive, innovative ideas, you align your planning with client goals, to facilitate success for our clients and operational clarity for our staff. In addition, you’re attentive to precision and details when clearly communicating client orders and expectations in our event software.
While most of your work will happen in the Convention Centre, this role provides the opportunity for remote work. Core work happens during Monday-Friday business hours but the ability to work outside these hours based on an event’s schedule is essential.

Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain successful client relationships through event planning and execution.
  • Work with clients in the consumer show, trade show, conference, and day meeting markets.
  • Take responsibility to integrate events into our venue through effective use of time management, negotiation, and innovative solutions.
  • Communicate event requirements to provisioning departments and coordinating logistics with industry suppliers.
  • Manage concurrent events, clients, and business improvement projects.
  • Taking the lead conducting site visits, facilitating planning meetings, and public speaking in front of small and large groups of customers online and in person.
