Description:

We are seeking a highly accomplished and motivated analyst based in one of our offices in London, New York, Tokyo, Hong Kong or Singapore, to work closely with the London-based portfolio manager running a global event driven book.

Responsibilities include:

  • Helping research companies going through big corporate events, such as M&A, spin-offs, break-ups, etc
  • Doing extensive valuation work (needs to have very good knowledge of M&A, corporate finance, company valuations)
  • Reading and analyzing offer documents, merger agreements and other filings
  • Watching for and analyzing news flow related to the book and overall event driven space
  • Assisting with calls and meeting with companies, bankers, lawyers and brokers
  • Helping gather data, research and updating information related to names in the book
  • Monitoring and booking of trades
  • Working closely with the middle office, risk and business management teams at Capula as well as prime brokers to help with the execution and structuring of trades, securing borrows and optimizing funding and margins for the book

REQUIREMENTS

  • 2-3 years of experience, at an investment bank (ideally doing M&A) or hedge fund (ideally focusing on event-driven)
  • A Bachelor’s Degree or higher, preferably in Economics, Finance, Accounting, Computer Science, Maths, Engineering (or similar)
  • Ideally some coding skills, preferably Python
  • Good understanding of corporate finance, M&A, accounting
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and form own ideas, whilst also working well in a small dynamic team
  • An excellent problem solver who can contribute innovative ideas
  • Willingness to work beyond standard working hours
  • Foreign languages are a plus
