Your role
As our Event Manager, you will lead the planning, development, and delivery of international exhibitions and global events, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with company policies. The role involves gathering insights from various Business Areas and functions, coordinating a diverse team of colleagues from across the globe, and collaborating with internal stakeholders and suppliers from different countries and cultures.
You will manage budgets, allocate resources, evaluate external services, and provide support by participating in technical meetings, conducting briefings, and resolving complex issues where necessary. To succeed in this role, you will need to be flexible, innovative, and results-focused, with the ability to inspire and motivate your team in a dynamic and challenging environment.

Your responsibilities will, amongst other things, include:

  • Continue developing the Saab presence at global events, with main focus on Europe
  • Plan, execute, and manage Saab’s participation in global events and exhibitions, including expense tracking, event timelines, management of external suppliers, logistics, booth production, and more
  • Ensure events stay within budget and are executed on schedule
  • Implement the brand platform
  • Management of graphic production and ordering of event and marketing materials
  • Reach out to potential stakeholders and partners,
  • Advertise events through multiple channels
  • On-site management of stand build and execution
  • Provide year-over-year analytical reports on events and KPIs, using these insights to optimise event tactics and strategy
  • Govern and develop Saab’s event management processes, including tools and guidelines
  • Provide support to colleagues, ensuring all aspects of events are carried out successfully and smoothly

You will be a part of the Group Business Development (GBD) Office team which has the task to improve and strengthen Saab’s global sales. The Group Business Development organisation (GBD) has the responsibility to generate leads as well as act as the primary customer interface for business opportunities worldwide, excluding Sweden and the Operational Countries (OPCs i.e., Australia, Germany, the UK and the US). GBD also provides customer- and market information to the Business Areas (BA’s), Business Units (BU’s.) and other Saab functions.
The GBD organisation maintains functional ownership and governance of the marketing and sales function across the Saab Group. The GBD organisation’s home base is in Sweden, but with a truly global representation. Many of our Country Managers, Business Development and Customer Sales Responsible employees are based at our local offices around the world.
Regular travel will be required, including sometimes on weekends and national holidays.
Your profile
We are seeking an experienced professional to manage complex events in an international context. You have a strong background in project management and marketing , paired with excellent organisational and leadership skills. You have experience negotiating with suppliers, adhering to budgets, and preparing detailed project plans. Confident and independent, you thrive in fast-paced environments and excel at planning and executing multifaceted projects.
With a self-starter attitude, you remain calm under pressure, effectively prioritising tasks to meet tight deadlines. You are skilled at working across organisations, locations, and leadership levels, delegating tasks, and coordinating teams, as well as being a team-player. Creativity is central to your approach, enabling you to deliver impactful events. Professionalism, sound judgement, and integrity underpin everything you do.
Fluency in written and spoken English and Swedish is essential, and additional languages are an advantage. A relevant education is desirable, and the role involves regular international travel.
This position requires that you pass a security vetting based on the current regulations around/of security protection. For positions requiring security clearance additional obligations on Swedish citizenship may apply.
