The Pacific National Exhibition (PNE) is an iconic institution in BC, famous for bringing generations of people together to celebrate and build memories. This 114-year-old, non-profit organization has an annual operating budget of over $70 million dollars and generates revenue through four activity streams: the 15-day annual summer Fair and winter Fair which average more than 700,000 people annually, Playland amusement park which welcomes 400,000 guests annually including Fright Nights, and a busy year-round portfolio of events including concerts, trade shows and film, cultural and community events. In total we bring over 2 million people through the site each year. The fourth activity stream is park care and facility maintenance. Fright Nights at the PNE is Western Canada’s Scariest Haunt, having multiple Haunted Houses and other attractions on-site in Playland. The PNE is looking for Actors that have a passion for the Halloween events industry and the PNE.
We are looking for motivated and hardworking individuals who have a passion for the haunt industry and have extensive experience in live events or TV/Film production. The Event Runners will report to the Festival Programs Managers and will be responsible for assisting with production elements during the run of the show and supporting the Fright Nights supervisory team.
Our ideal candidates will possess strong organizational & communication skills and will have a background in production, theater, or film. The Event Runners will work in compliance with all health and safety requirements as determined by WorkSafeBC, and all other applicable legislation and company policies.

Responsibilities:

In your role as our Event Runner, your primary accountabilities will be to:

  • Assist with various Fright Nights operational tasks, including but not limited to crowd control, actor & performer escorts, aiding teams during entertainment elements
  • Provide support to the supervisory & managerial team

Event Responsibilities

  • Running items to attractions
  • Assisting attraction supervisors as needed
  • Escorting actors & performers
  • Checking green room cleanliness during operations
  • Crowd control during shows & at attractions as needed
  • Assist with attraction readiness as needed prior to opening
  • Assist with safety procedures and protocols
  • Other duties as assigned
