CPA Ontario is currently in search of an Event Technology Specialist who will be responsible for delivering professional live, virtual, and pre-recorded content for members, students, and CPA Ontario employees. Reporting to the Conferences and Events Manager, you will provide stakeholders with planning and execution of all technological components for events through in-person, virtual, and hybrid workflows to ensure a seamless, best-in-class experience.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Playing an integral role in ensuring the seamless planning and execution of in-person, virtual, and hybrid events, both internal and external, tailored to members, students, and employees of CPA Ontario with a focus on technology expertise.
Ensuring the meticulous management and upkeep of audio-visual equipment, broadcast systems, and technology components.
Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to define and recommend technology and event platform needs for events.
Coordinating rehearsals, testing, and delivery of events, while providing support and guidance to participants.
Supporting and managing all aspects of event management platforms and event apps.
Setting up, operating, and maintaining technical equipment used in live events, conferences, and other gatherings.
Working closely with the Events team members to coordinate logistics, manage resources, and oversee technical requirements for all events.
Supporting innovation of data-driven observation within the team, with a focus on transforming event data into relevant, actionable recommendations to improve event design and attendee experiences.
Managing event management platforms and leveraging experience in event production to ensure seamless execution of virtual, hybrid, and in-person events.
Keeping up with the latest trends and innovations in the event industry by staying aware of the changing needs and technology preferences of event audiences, as well as emerging tools and platforms that can improve event quality and impact.
Who You Are:
A post-secondary graduate with a degree in Event Management, Event & Media Production, or Broadcast Technology along with at least 3 years’ experience in event planning and execution, with a strong focus on technology integration and management.
Able to demonstrate experience in managing successful virtual, hybrid, and in-person events, including technical setup and troubleshooting.
Technically savvy and knowledgeable in event management platforms event apps such as Cvent, Eventbrite and Whova.
Experienced with live streaming platforms and video conferencing tools such as vMix, Zoom, Microsoft Teams and Restream,
Knowledgeable with audio-visual equipment, broadcast systems, and related technology components.
A skilled communicator with strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
Well organized with strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple events and tasks simultaneously.
Creative problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to troubleshooting technical issues.
Familiar with current trends and innovations in the event industry, and you have a commitment to continuous learning and improvement.
Able to remain calm and composed under pressure, with a focus on customer service orientation.
Detail oriented with a commitment to delivering high-quality, professional event experiences.
Able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as required for event execution.
