Description:

JOB SUMMARY

The Women and Public Policy Program of Harvard Kennedy School works to advance women and gender equity by creating knowledge, training leaders, and informing public policy and organizational practices.
Reporting to the Executive Director and the Director of Research and Programs, this 6-month role will assist in performing event support and staffing for programming at the Women and Public Policy Program at Harvard Kennedy School. The assistant will provide routine administrative tasks and will be on-hand to help staff events both virtually and in-person. The assistant will also support WAPPP’s students and fellowship portfolio, facilitating connections across the WAPPP community.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2 years of experience in increasingly responsible programming and administrative positions.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • Diligent with strong attention to detail and ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated intermediate skill with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, and Zoom required.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment under strict deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to synthesize information, problem-solve, and troubleshoot.
  • Ability to handle complex and confidential information with discretion.
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills are essential.
  • Academic or professional experience that is mission aligned is preferred
  • Experience running events and programming strongly preferred. Prior knowledge of Harvard systems and data management is desired.
  • Bachelor’s degree not required, but a plus.
