To support the growth of Cochlear across Australia and New Zealand, it is essential to educate professionals and consumers on the products and services we provide. In a newly created position, the Events and Tours Specialist will be the lead for all Cochlear events across Australia and New Zealand, responsible for the management and execution of all professional and consumer events, conferences, and trade shows.
This is a varied and busy role, in which you will be responsible for the planning and management of the ANZ events and tours program in collaboration with the ANZ sales and marketing teams.

Why is this the right role for you? In this role, you will be responsible for;

  • Strategic planning and end-to-end execution of ANZ events (in-person and/or virtual)
  • Management of 1 direct report (Events Assistant)
  • Manage multiple events simultaneously; meeting all deadlines and required tasks. To include but not limited to: Event vendors, accommodation, transportation, meeting specifications (food and beverage, audio visual), registrations, event experience (event app, decor and entertainment), convention trade show management (development of event materials, on-site exhibit set-up/breakdown, support) and internal/external communications.
  • Event budget management, payment process improvement, forecasting and reconciliation.
  • Post-campaign reporting and evaluation for all events, including ROI assessment and recommendations for future activity.
  • Works in Event Management software Cvent daily to; receive and process all event requests.
  • Provide monthly, quarterly, and annual event reports.
  • Oversee the role of CVENT Software across the ANZ sales team
  • Lead the set up and management of site tours at our state of the art manufacturing facilities in Macquarie Park.

  • Demonstrated end to end event management skills
  • Able to manage multiple events, tasks and processes concurrently in a timely fashion

  • Understands the unpredictable nature of events and possesses problem-solving ability to adapt and manage changes effectively
  • Experience with event management software (eg. CVENT, GoToWebinar)
  • Ability to effectively engage with multiple stakeholders with a focus on customer service
  • Strong computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office suite
  • Highly organised with strong administrative skills
  • Superior interpersonal skills and strong customer service ethos
  • Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to travel nationally as required

Desired Skills

  • Qualification in Event management and/or project management
  • Experience in the healthcare, medical devices or other regulated industry
  • Previous database/CRM experience (eg. Salesforce.com)
  • Previous experience working with an external events agency
  • Experience managing a direct report or team
