The Event Coordinator is responsible for proactively soliciting and managing group/catering-related opportunities across all sectors of the business from initial enquiry stag to seamless handover to the Event Executive. Ensures business is turned over properly and in a timely fashion for proper service delivery inline with BDRC & Marriott timelines. Responsible for driving customer loyalty by delivering service excellence throughout each customer experience. Provides service to our customers to grow the account on behalf of Marriott International, across the enterprise. Prepares all event documentation and coordinates with all relevant hotel departments and the customer to ensure consistent, high-level service the enquiry stage.
The Event coordinator takes personal responsibility to adhere to sales and event brand standards for enquiry handling all events on property (weddings, social, golf, corporate, rooms only) Will be required to work weekends and evenings as needed by business needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Ownership for all inbound inquires on property though all channels
  • Based on business needs, additional responsibilities and projects
  • Coordination of all customer requirements, including communication and completing verbally and in writing with the customer the details of the full event proposal & quote

Correct use of systems processes to ensure booking integrity, consistency & accuracy

  • Sells inline to a pre-determined event and group strategy
  • Works within brand standards & systems processes
  • Generate incremental revenue and deliver excellent guest service
  • Effectively manages bedrooms blocks and meeting space inventory for assigned groups
  • Conducts compelling show rounds to win the business
  • Focus on building strong relationships and helping grow the Hanbury Manor reputation
  • Understands the overall market - competitors’ strengths and weaknesses, economic trends, supply and demand etc. and knows how to sell against them
  • Partners with Event Executive & Management and/or Operations in providing a customer experience that exceeds the customer’s expectations
  • Manages and delivers the theming for sales intensity days. Combining final numbers from team for Senior Events Manager, running any on the day competitions within the team. Items to be purchased on P card along with full receipts
  • Serves the customer by understanding their needs and recommending the appropriate features and services that best meet their needs and exceed their expectations, while building a relationship and loyalty to Marriott
