Description:

We are therefore in search of an Events Manager who will do just that for our Events Portfolio!
This is an opportunity to lead the Events portfolio at Canterbury and drive growth and revenue for the Food and Beverage department, determining and implementing a strategy that will see you meeting and exceeding sales targets.
Our event spaces have undergone a major refurbishment and are the newest and most modern spaces in our venue, therefore, there are endless opportunities for hosting exceptional social and corporate events. In addition to our dedicated event spaces, we also have a restaurant and several cocktail bars available for various occasions.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to manage the below:

  • Strategy - determine and implement a strategy that is consistent with the Club’s Vision, Mission, Values and overall Strategic Plan.
  • Business Development - maintain overall responsibility for the growth of the portfolio by driving new business within and beyond the local community and nurture existing client relationships.
  • People Management - successfully lead a team of experienced professionals to deliver exceptional outcomes for clients.
  • Innovation - research opportunities for innovation and improvement to ensure a relevant and competitive product offering.
  • Financial Management - manage the Events Sales and Labour budgets and provide accurate forecasts for revenue streams whilst reporting on activity and progress.

We are seeking an experienced professional with the below skills and attributes:

  • Three years + experience in a similar role
  • A Sales focused mindset with a successful track record in business development
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills
  • The ability to lead a team to success with effective leadership skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications and experience with Event systems
  • Exceptional time management skills and attention to detail
  • Full working rights in Australia
