Description:
Leopardstown Racecourse is seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Events & Marketing Executive to join our team on a permanent basis. This role will support the Leopardstown Marketing team and be responsible for the organisation, promotion, and management of race day events throughout the year. Key events include the Leopardstown Student Race Day, Carnival de Leop, and other activities such as Best Dressed Competitions, Dublin Racing Festival, Irish Champions Festival, and Leopardstown Christmas Festival.
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
- A relevant third-level qualification with 1 to 2 years’ experience in a similar role.
- Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisation skills with the ability to multitask working to deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong team player who works well with others and is skilled at gathering input from team members.
- Strong experience of Microsoft Office packages with copy writing competence.
- Flexibility in relation to working hours and experience working as part of a team.
As racing is a seven-day business, flexibility in relation to working hours is required.

Responsibilities:
- Project lead on a number of events throughout the year at Leopardstown, to include Carnival de Leop and Student Day.
- Principal organiser of the popular Leopardstown Student Day which has been a sell-out event for 4 years. Tasks to involve liaising with student unions, promotion and sales of tickets and event creation of the day.
- Take responsibility for research and development of entertainment concepts
- Work with operations teams on event planning, technical requirements, and timings
- Work with 3rd party suppliers i.e. music bookers, marquee dressers to ensure all elements of the customer experience are of the highest quality and delivered in a timely fashion for race meetings.
- Maintain excellent relationships with sponsors ensuring all sponsorships rights relating to marketing are met and managed.
- Creation of post-event reports for events.
- Content creations and social media support during major racing festivals.
- Responsibility for compiling the racecards for each event, liaising with the team and all stakeholder ensuring all information required is included before sending to print.
- Contribute to creation and copywriting of additional elements within the racecard.
- Contribute to planning, implementation and measurement of campaigns and events.
- Write copy for marketing collateral, web and social media, and assist with press releases.
- Day to day management of competitions and promotional activities.
- Organise and attend events such as conferences, receptions, launches and photocalls.
- Have responsibility for imagery requirements, photography briefs and raceday/event photographers.
- Assist with general raceday support activities as required.
- Work as part of a team to meet the overall objectives of the marketing department.
- Provide marketing assistance as required to the hospitality department.
