POSITION OVERVIEW

Working in accordance with the organization’s strategic vision, core values and leadership competencies, reporting to the Events Manager, this position is responsible to provide leadership in the effective planning, coordination, provision and evaluation of corporate events to support marketing strategy, programs and the FortisBC brand at a variety of sponsorship, community and media events.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership in the effective planning, coordination, provision and evaluation of corporate events to support marketing strategy, programs and the FortisBC brand; collaborate with key stakeholder and cross functional teams to develop event requirements including communication plans, budgets and activities based on business needs. Participate in source funding activities and ensure cost efficiency for events; negotiate sponsorship agreements.
  • Schedule and train staff to effectively represent FortisBC at a variety of community events including trade shows, sporting events, conferences, festivals and other celebrations, etc.; ensure staff deliver key messages for marketing campaigns based on corporate key pillars, distribute promotional materials and publications and meet company standards.
  • Travel to events throughout BC; attend to customer inquiries, scheduling and staffing issues and other related problems. Maintain safety for staff; ensure staff are trained and aware of their responsibilities in the area of safety and environmental stewardship.
