About this team
The Evergreen Research team provides the deep scientific expertise required to drive lululemon and industry leading innovation. As part of the Product Innovation team, Evergreen Research works directly with product development partners to demystify unknowns, create new scientific techniques, and pioneer the groundbreaking research required to generate exciting new products. Product Innovation engineers, shapes and designs delight into lululemon’s future guest product experiences. We’re creating what’s next in the athletic product industry, initiating groundbreaking research to generate revolutionary concepts, and translating this into game changing commercial products.

A day in the life

  • Lead a team advancing fundamental knowledge and developing industry-leading performance protocols, from raw materials to real-world human testing, informing innovation at every stage of product development.
  • Manage a large portfolio of external research projects and vast network of external collaborators, all advancing knowledge that influences existing and long-term future lululemon product opportunities and directions.
  • Mentor your team, educate cross-functional partners, and translate key research outputs into actionable and effective technologies for product innovation and beyond.

Qualifications

  • An advanced degree (PhD preferred) with particular expertise in human performance (e.g. sport science, biomechanics, thermophysiology, kinesiology etc.)
  • 5+ years’ experience in fast-paced corporate environments with athletic products and/or human performance
  • Familiarity with industry-academic research funding programs and leading external collaborative research partnerships
  • Experienced in mentoring early-stage researchers and achieving successful outcomes in long-term research and development.

Compensation and Benefits Package
lululemon’s compensation offerings are grounded in a pay-for-performance philosophy that recognizes exceptional individual and team performance. The typical hiring range for this position is from $119,200-$156,500 annually; the base pay offered is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity. As part of our total rewards offering, permanent employees in this position may be eligible for our competitive annual bonus program, subject to program eligibility requirements.
