Responsibilities:
- Technical leader to a team of cross-disciplined fuel engineers, providing consultation and guidance on TRISO fuel product design and reactor physics
- Lead and contribute to core design and optimization activities
- Subject matter expert for advanced simulation tools development and validation and engagement in related external industry consortiums (i.e. NEAMS)
- Using experience in fuel management, fuel cycle, develop and manage models related to economics
- Drive LCOE reduction efforts for eVinci fuel through fuel and core optimization
- Provide strategic direction and execution plans focused next generation fuel development and optimization for the eVinci microreactor and its space variants
- Influence extensive network of contacts with academia, national laboratories and other organizations involved in nuclear research and development to promote Westinghouse interests
- Identify meaningful opportunities to collaborate with national labs, government agencies, suppliers and partners progressing TRISO fuel performance and microreactor mod-sim development
- Serve as a design and/or review team member on related reactor system project teams considering the integrated risks and relations to TRISO fuel
- Support TRISO fuel failure, safety analysis, and licensing efforts for the eVinci™ Microreactor
- Leverage experience, business acumen, technical expertise, and customer relationships to effectively lead Westinghouse in international consortiums on microreactor and small modular reactor strategy
- Provide expertise and consultation to technical panels, reviews, committees, regulators, customers, and partners on various Fuel and Fuel Strategy related topics
