About the role
Sygnature Discovery is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Scientist to join our team. The primary focus of this role will be to perform histology procedures, with additional responsibilities in molecular techniques. This is an excellent opportunity to begin or further your career in the biological sciences, working in a dynamic research environment.

KEY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Suitable experience in a university or industrial background and/or a degree in biology, biomedical science, biochemistry, or a related field.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with internal stakeholders.
  • Attention to detail with good organisational skills.
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform histology procedures including tissue processing, embedding, sectioning, staining, and microscopy.
  • Assist in molecular biology techniques such as PCR, Western blotting, and RNA/DNA extraction.
  • Carry out immunohistochemistry (IHC) and immunofluorescence assays.
  • Assist in the analysis and interpretation of experimental data.
  • Ensure laboratory workspaces and equipment are clean, maintained, and meet safety standards.
  • Keep accurate and organised records of experiments and results.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of scientists to support ongoing research projects.
  • Follow all relevant health and safety regulations and procedures within the laboratory and carry out delegated H&S duties as delegated.
