Description:

A WORKPLACE THAT INVESTS IN YOU

No qualifications are required for this role and you’ll receive a full training programme including annual training to maintain knowledge of current exam regulations.
This is a great opportunity to use your skills to allow students on the Isle of Man to complete qualifications which will help them work towards their future ambitions.
A competitive pay rate.
Access to the Learning, Education and Development training facility, which is exclusively for Public Service employees, to keep on top of your continuous professional development.
Discounted access to the NSC gym and island swimming pools as well as 1-to-1 support programmes and exercise classes with qualified instructors.
Free access to the Isle of Man Government Staff Welfare Service which offers professional counselling, emotional support and sign-posting on a wide range of issues.
Free car parking.

Responsibilities:

We are looking for reliable and committed individuals to join our Exam Invigilator list, assisting with examinations in the Island’s High Schools and University College Isle of Man (UCM).
We are looking for individuals who are flexible with their availability, willing to work in and outside of school hours and term times and have the ability to relate and engage well with students and candidates, and can make them feel supported and encouraged in a potentially challenging environment.
As exams run all year round, not just in the summer months, you may be requested to invigilate at any time of year, including for November and January series examinations, internal mock examinations during term times and other specialist online and written exams delivered at UCM throughout the year and holiday periods (invigilators may be requested to complete specialist training for some exams).
Most examinations are timetabled Monday to Friday between 8.30am and 5.00pm but occasionally there may be weekend or early evening exams to invigilate too. You’ll work as and when required and there is no obligation for you to undertake work or for the Department (including UCM and the Schools) to provide work.
