Description:
JOB TITLE: NOHFC RESEARCH INTERN
DEPARTMENT: Faculty of Business & Economics (GLOCAL)
POSITION STATUS: Temporary Contract
LOCATION: Sault Ste. Marie
SUPERVISION RECEIVED Dr. Jody-Lynn Rebek
START DATE: Immediately
END DATE: One year after start date
HOURS OF WORK 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Recent graduate (within the last three years) with a post-secondary degree or
diploma.
- Research experience with an undergraduate or Master’s degree.
- Advanced computer skills and familiarity with quantitative and qualitative analysis
software (e.g., SPSS, nVivo, AtlasTi).
- Proficiency in social media platforms and methods for engaging participants.
- Knowledge of research methodologies, ethics applications, and APA 7th edition
referencing.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience with project management, research dissemination, and EDI or Truth
and Reconciliation Calls for Action is an asset.
- Certificate in Research Ethics from TCPS2 Core is required.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary research team to explore inner development
capacities of business leaders and students.
- Engage with local First Nations communities to explore indigenous relationships
with the inner development process.
- Assist in completing literature reviews and REB documentation.
- Develop processes for informed consent and participant invitations.
- Assist in data collection through online surveys, interviews, focus groups, and
workshops.
- Engage stakeholders from provincial, national, and international organizations.
- Communicate effectively with all stakeholders, including researchers, students,
entrepreneurs, and First Nations representatives.
- Coordinate meetings, organize and compile data, and maintain compliance with
research ethics.
- Participate in creative research dissemination activities, including writing and
editing materials for publication and presentation.
