Description:

FairTutors is seeking an Excel Data Specialist with advanced proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets to support data management, automate workflows, and streamline our processes. The ideal candidate will leverage their expertise to create, maintain, and optimize spreadsheets that support our tutoring and business operations. Familiarity with coding languages such as VBA, SQL, or basic scripting is highly desirable to enhance our data capabilities. REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proficiency in Excel: Expert-level skills in Excel, including advanced formulas (VLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, etc.), pivot tables, data validation, and conditional formatting.
  • Google Sheets Expertise: In-depth experience with Google Sheets, including custom functions, data queries, and Apps Script for automation.
  • Data Automation Skills: Familiarity with Excel macros, VBA, or Google Apps Script to create and maintain automated workflows.
  • Basic Coding Knowledge: Understanding of programming concepts with hands-on experience in VBA, SQL, or basic scripting to support data tasks.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to interpret and analyze data to create reports and identify trends, anomalies, and actionable insights.
  • Detail-Oriented: Strong attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in data processing and reporting.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to troubleshoot data issues, optimize workflows, and recommend data-driven solutions.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Ability to translate technical data solutions to team members and stakeholders with varying levels of technical knowledge.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Google Data Studio, Tableau).
  • Familiarity with cloud-based systems and integrations.
  • Previous experience in an education or tutoring company.

Responsibilities:

  • Advanced Data Management: Design, create, and maintain Excel and Google Sheets for tracking key performance indicators (KPIs), client and tutor data, scheduling, and more.
  • Automation and Optimization: Use formulas, functions, and coding (e.g., VBA, macros, or Google Apps Script) to automate repetitive tasks and optimize workflows within Excel and Google Sheets.
  • Data Reporting: Develop and generate custom reports, dashboards, and data visualizations to support decision-making across various teams.
  • Data Quality Control: Conduct data audits to ensure accuracy, consistency, and reliability of data inputs across systems and resolve discrepancies.
  • System Integration: Collaborate with IT and operations teams to integrate spreadsheet data with other software and systems to ensure seamless data flow.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve data processes and implement solutions to streamline tasks and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Basic Coding & Scripting: Use basic coding (VBA, SQL, or Google Apps Script) to further automate and extend the functionality of Excel and Google Sheets, making data workflows more efficient.
