Description:

Excluded Executive Assistant School District No. 64 (Gulf Islands) School District 64 (Gulf Islands) is seeking applications for the excluded position of Executive Assistant. The Executive Assistant independently and efficiently performs administrative tasks, acting as the confidential assistant to the Superintendent, Board of Education, and Senior Administration. This full-time position is effective March 1st, 2025, with a minimum salary of $68,061.
The position requires superior judgment, organization, and communication skills. The ability to work independently and as part of a team while maintaining a high degree of efficiency, organization and confidentiality is paramount. Gulf Islands School District is located in the Salish Sea (Strait of Georgia) and is home to five island communities Salt Spring, Pender, Galiano, Mayne, and Saturna.
The District currently serves 1,450 students and is proud of its quality programming, including Indigenous education, a performing arts academy, and late French Immersion. The Position The Executive Assistant will be responsible for: - Providing comprehensive, high-level confidential administrative support to the Superintendent of Schools, the Board of Education, and Senior Administration - Coordinating schedules and workflow, managing priorities, and supporting school and district administrative staff 4 Preparing Board meeting agendas, minutes and resulting correspondence - Creating and maintaining complex documents; internal and external communications, research and analysis of data - Plan and manage event and meeting logistics, including scheduling, registrations, travel arrangements, and on-site coordination - Supporting key District projects and initiatives - Liaising with District partners, Ministry, and community officials and responding to inquiries and requests for information The Applicant The successful applicant will possess: - Completion of a Business Administration program, bachelor’s degree or equivalent education combined with relevant work experience- Five years of experience in an executive support role - Excellent administrative and organizational skills with demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines - Advanced proficiency in M365 Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint;) and database tools - Superior interpersonal skills with a positive mindset - Outstanding written and verbal communication skills - The ability to exercise considerable independent action in the performance of all duties and the ability to work under pressure in a wide variety of assignments Review of applications will commence on Monday, February 10th, 2025.
